Local prices need local IPs
A shop in Germany may show a lower price to a visitor from Berlin than to one from abroad, or hide some items completely. With -country-de in your user name, every request leaves from a German home connection and you collect the real local price.
Run the same code for each market and change only the country key. ProxySite serves residential IPs in 195+ countries, with dedicated pages for 36 of the largest markets.
Schedules and volume
Price data is most useful when it is fresh. Most teams refresh key products several times a day and the long tail once a day. Rotating residential proxies handle the bursts, and the traffic you do not use carries over because it never expires.
Carts and delivery quotes
Delivery costs and final prices often appear only in the cart. Use a sticky session or long acting ISP proxies so the whole cart flow runs on one IP, then move to the next product with a new session key.
Set it up step by step
- Step 1List the shops and markets you track.
- Step 2Buy rotating residential traffic sized to your page count.
- Step 3Run one job per country with -country-xx.
- Step 4Use a session key for cart and delivery steps.
- Step 5Store the price, stock and time for each product.
Questions
How much traffic does price monitoring use?
It depends on page weight. Light HTML pages need about 100 to 400 KB each, so 100 GB covers roughly 250,000 to a million product checks.
Can I target a city?
Yes, in large markets with the -city- key, useful for local delivery prices.
Which shops can I monitor?
Any public shop. Our country pages list popular local sites per market as examples.
